Surviving a Merger: How to Handle Capital Equipment Procurement and Standardization (Room CC, 101A)

There was a pronounced need to coordinate equipment standards among Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, and Space and Capital Planning departments before, during, and after a merger involving three Michigan-based health systems. We will detail how this was accomplished and describe how the transition of different technician service models affected operation efficiencies. We will also cover the impact of that the consolidation of different CMMS systems had on productivity, scheduling, and equipment planning.
