Approximately 85 percent of fire departments in the United States are all volunteer or mostly volunteer. Many struggle with establishing training as a priority because of challenges within or outside the department’s control. This class focuses on the challenges of training volunteer firefighters and overcoming those challenges to make training a priority within the department.
