Quint Considerations for the Single Truck Suburban Department (Room Wabash 2)

12 Apr 19
8:30 AM - 10:15 AM

Tracks: Truck Company

This class covers fireground operational considerations when a quint ladder or a nontraditional ladder truck (i.e., aerial apparatus with stored CAFS) is the only truck on the alarm and the components of a successful quint training program. Fire departments of varying sizes use nontraditional ladder trucks on the fireground. Smaller suburban fire departments are often challenged in having traditional truck functions completed by a nontraditional truck. How a department uses this apparatus depends on its resources and culture. The instructor provides the anser to the question, When do you stretch the line and work as an engine and when do you decide to position and work as a truck?
