Tracks: Instruction/training

Are you tired of being told something, taught something, or being sold something with claims of performance, only to find out after the fact the claims were less than what was promised and in some cases completely erroneous? The instructor shares more than 18 years of knowledge and experience gained in the area of flow testing—from the water main in the ground to the fire hose in your hand—and exposes the major issues he encountered and simple solutions for resolving them. The class focuses on standard operating procedures, including the dangers of using blanket guidelines for hydraulics; manufacturer information, including how to verify it; apparatus sensor and gauge issues, including nightmarish lessons learned problems and their solutions; and fire hose myths, including emphasizing that flow rates must be measured with flow equipment and what to watch for relative to cost and safety when buying hose.
