Driving Occupant Health and Wellness in the Built Environment (Room 201B)

There is a growing body of evidence linking the design of our built environment to choices that impact health. Healthier buildings benefit employee wellness and promoting wellness improves employee productivity. Looking to incentivize wellness supporting building amenities and polices, the General Services Administration(GSA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) led the charge to develop Fitwel, a healthy building certification standard. In this interactive and engaging session, panelists will share an overview of the Fitwel rating system and highlight how real estate owners, managers, and developers can positively impact building occupant health and productivity by making Fitwel’s recommended improvements to workplace design and policies.
