The study examined the impact of marriage on PTSD and alcohol use in a sample of Army National Guard veterans. Veterans completed the Combat Exposure Scale and the PTSD Checklist Military Version, and veterans and spouses completed the AUDIT. Results regarding the relationship between PTSD symptoms and alcohol use in single versus married veterans as well as within the marital relationship will be provided. Implications pertaining to the treatment of military couples will be discussed.
