Within its mandate as Canada’s national counselling association, the CCPA has encountered value conflicts embedded in its own policies and those of associated organizations. To address these, the association struck a diverse task group to examine non-alignments between “counselling ethics and standards of practice, social justice, religious freedom, human rights, and the Canadian and provincial/territorial legal systems.” This dialogic session features the position paper that emerged.
