This session seeks to demonstrate the need for mental health counselors to collaborate with other professionals to provide necessary emotional support for parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The presenters will discuss ways to integrate group counseling into existing parent programs, such as language training programs, by infusing group processing skills and other therapeutic activities such as sand tray work into the parent training.
