Tracks: Info Sessions

Microgrids are the emerging power system elements for grid modernization. Unlike other new technologies like renewables and smart grid, microgrids can take shape in many forms. A microgrid does not have a unique design or one central mode of operation. Because of its complexity a virtual microgrid platform aids the design and validation of a microgrid. At Eaton we developed a virtual environment that allows the testing of microgrids. The system can evaluate data structures, communications, controls algorithms and application modes of operation. The presentation includes demonstration of an HIL system.
