Abstract:
Many people nowadays are talking about “Smart Factory”. However, for the Capex-intensive semiconductor industry, most of the concepts in this “Smart Factory’ have already been deployed to maximize the utilization and yield. Therefore, here we would want to suggest newer concept specialized for the semiconductor industry, based on the real-time analysis of the big data.
It is believed that only 5~10% of the data generated by various equipment of the semiconductor fabs are actually analyzed due to issues such as storage cost, computation speed, lack of easy-to-use interfaces, etc. In this presentation, we introduce the new big data technology originated from the telecom network operation, and real-life example of problem solving in the area such as Fault Detection and Classification (FDC).
