Abstract:

The continuously growing consumer and industrial demand for connected devices and systems, coupled with the projected volume of data generated by the Internet of Things (IoT) are driving innovations that push the limits of power, performance, cost, and design. The underlying core capabilities—sensing, connectivity, and computing—will create enormous demand for innovations across a number of applications, from wearables and smart TVs to autonomous vehicles. But, the IoT extends beyond just the “things”— associated market opportunities in networks, data centers, and servers will make up a critical piece of the IoT stack and drive new requirements for semiconductors. To sustain this historical pace of innovation and capitalize on IoT opportunities, semiconductor manufacturers will need a differentiated approach to deliver innovation on the leading edge. This presentation will explore technological trends reshaping the industry, examine key growth drivers arising from the IoT, and discuss enabling technologies that will advance IoT growth.
