Abstract:

It is said that electronics devices on which printing technology is applied will extremely increase by 2020.  The printed electronics has been talked as a “dream-inspiring”technology to achieve both of energy/material saving and low cost at the same time.

SCREEN Group is a unique company that has top shares for mass production equipment in both of printing market and electronics industry such as semiconductor and LCD field.Based on these proven achievements, we are developing several new technologies to expand the printed electronics market, which is still in very limited application.

SCREEN Holdings approaches tomultipleprinting technologies in order to establish the “dreaming”technology.  We now focus onFlat StampParallel Printing (FSPP) and Gravure Offset Printing technologies.

FSPP is a soletechnology for precise control anditcan achieve5um resolutionand less than +/-2um for overlay accuracy.  The printing method uses flat plate, blanket and substrate.  The coated ink on blanket is patterned, and it is transferredon substrate with precise accuracy.  This technology is started on Flat Panel Display manufacturing, and challenging in another field.  In this presentation, we introduce our development ofAg wiring transistorfor pseudo CMOS inverter which consists of 4 p-type organic transistorsfor biological sensor as a new application.

Meanwhile, Gravure Offset technology is said that it can form fine line, but ihas not been applied to mass production due to several critical issues.  This printing method also uses flat plate, blanket and substrate.  We have been developing the solutions for the issues in order to fit for mass production in electronic market.Itis also introduced how to solve the issues from the point of view of printing plate technology mainly.
