Pathfinding Beyond 5nm (Room TechXPOT South)

Though the industry will likely continue to find clever ways to extend CMOS finFET technology further than we used to think possible, at some point in the not-so-distant future, making faster, lower power ICs is going to require more disruptive change to new switching mechanisms and/or new materials. And for such a fundamental change, projected by some as only five years out, there is still a daunting range of contending technologies that will need a major development effort by the whole ecosystem to move from the lab into volume manufacturing.  We’ve invited some leading industry researchers to update on what currently look like the leading options, and the key challenges and opportunities they present for the IC makers and their supply chain.
