Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. among those 50 and older, and the rate is rising as more of us live longer. Currently, one in three of those 65 and older are likely to develop the disease. So much has happened in the last year regarding Alzheimer's and dementia, including the BRAIN Initiative, with public/private funding in the millions and work already going on all over the country. No, we don't have a cure yet, but there's a lot of really promising stuff in the pipeline. The goal is to find a cure for Alzheimer's by 2025, and it's going to happen if the current trajectory continues. Elna will talk about what's been happening.
