After this session, participants will be able to: 1) assess and select the type of oral fluid testing technology that meets their institution's needs; 2) describe oral fluid production, collection techniques for oral fluid and potential pitfalls surrounding collection; 3) describe differences between the use of oral fluid and urine for drug testing and the advantages of using oral fluid and settings in which oral fluid testing would be clinically useful; and 4) discuss available methodologies for oral fluid testing and associated challenges in result interpretation.
