After this session, participants will be able to: 1) recognize the role of HPV infection in the development of benign and malignant disease at the cervix and other anatomical sites; 2) describe the ability of HPV vaccination to prevent the majority of infections, high-grade dysplasias, and cancers attributable to the HPV types targeted by the vaccine; and 3) explain the principles, methods, and appropriate use of Pap testing and/or HPV testing for cervical cancer screening.
