Today’s wearable computing products are integrating a wide array of sensor ICs to enable accurate environmental, optical and biometric sensing capabilities for end users. This session will present physical placement guidelines and actual results for ambient and biometric sensors in a wearable smart watch form factor device. By attending this session, attendees will learn: physical sensor placement for ambient temperature and relative humidity & UV index and biometric sensors including heart rate with optical techniques, techniques for skin heating compensation & response time improvement for the ambient temperature/ humidity sensors, and how to improve response time for environmental sensors while maintaining water resistance.
