Brush Turbogenerators undertook a development initiative to increase the power output of one of its machines by 15% without impacting on the overall size of the completed machine and at the same time reducing the weight. Conventional design techniques were used alongside ANYS and CFX design validation modelling to ensure that the product met customer requirements. The paper will outline the problems faced, decisions made, modelling carried out and test validation performed which led to the successful completion of the project.
