Advanced SCR-DENOx Technology for EDF’S Power Plant in Rybnik (Room G109, Auditorium Centre, First Floor)

The paper will show the technical solution how one of Poland’s oldest power plant will be equipped with the state-of-the-art SCR technology for NOx reduction. Thereby the power station will comply with the latest applicable European emission levels for NOx and NH3. Modernization works at Rybnik power plant are actually performed at two hard-coal fired boilers with an electrical output of more than 200MW for each block. The boilers are fired with a mixture of different hard-coals from the open market and in addition of some percentage of biomass. Due to European legislation the power station shall comply with the latest European emission regulations (LCPD). Thus 2012 the tender process for applying a SCR-DeNOx system has been executed. By end of 2014 the first boiler equipped with SCR system will start-up and operation experiences of the initially 6 months will be presented. Main focus will be on the operation behavior of the new economizer system in connection with the existing boiler and the new SCR system.
