Extended Low Emissions Capabilities of the SGT-700 DLE Combustor System (Room G102-G103, Auditorium Centre, First Floor)

Siemens manufactures gas turbines in the load range from 5MW to 50MW operating both on gas and liquid fuels. In this paper the focus is about the improvements achieved by the SGT-700 (33MW) combustion system for operation with low emissions for an extended range of loads and fuel compositions. The SGT-700 gas turbine has more than one million operating hours experience of field operation. A well-established feature is the robust capability of the SGT-700 gas turbine DLE (Dry Low Emissions) combustion system to operate at low NOx and CO emissions on gas turbine loads from seventy percent to full load when burning natural gas. The latest design improvements applied on the standard SGT-700 combustion system extends the gas turbine load range down to sixty percent of full load with low NOx and CO emissions and in addition accept a wider variety of gas fuel compositions. The application of the optional bleeding to inlet system for emissions control allows furthering extending the SGT-700 low NOx and CO load range down to fifty percent of full load. This improvement is based on the use of the inlet bleeding hardware that is an available choice for SGT-700 anti-icing system. The new design improvements and inlet bleeding solution for emissions control has been tested in several SGT-700 gas turbines installed at site. The use of the inlet bleeding allows increasing combustion temperature and as a result it is possible to transfer the low NOx and CO emissions capabilities of high engine loads down to fifty percent of full load. The paper will present the results from a site which has a SGT-700 gas turbine with inlet bleed emissions control fully commissioned and capable of achieving low NOx and CO for engine load from fifty percent to full load.
