MA3: Machine Learning in the Fog for Industrial IoT (Room Theater 2)

17 Oct 18
11:10 AM - 12:00 PM
Ed Kuzemchak - CTO & Director of IoT & Embedded Engineering, Software Design Solutions — Industrial IoT systems often have legacy sensors, harsh environments, and limited communication bandwidth. Fog processing refers to on-premise processing of data prior to sending up to the cloud. Proximity to the data, centralization, and low latency communication often makes the Fog an advantageous location for localized Machine Learning. This session discusses IoT projects where Fog based processing has been used. The challenges, benefits, and best practices learned along the way are the primary focus.
