302: Hospice Revenue Cycle: Protecting Cash Flow Through Revenue Cycle Processes (Room Pavilion Ballroom)

Hospice providers face substantial changes in Medicare billing requirements that will threaten timely collection of receivables. So it is critical to take time now to examine all revenue cycle processes and identify potential threats to cash flow, along with compliance-related issues. This session will focus on denial management and current techniques to get claims paid. Discussion will also cover GIP concerns, payment denials from CMS, RAC and other audits, managing hospice ADRs, overpayment recoupment, and refund requirements. These threats to cash flow are expected to continue as the Medicare hospice benefit gets more scrutiny from CMS and program integrity contractors.
