Time Magazine recently has said that 30 percent of medical claims are denied and 50 percent of those are not appealed. The systematic denial of valid claims has made it possible for payers to erode physician reimbursement further compounding the problems created by continuing falling fee schedules. This course will show how to identify opportunities for appeal, include: how to prepare documentation for appeal; writing appeals; working the process; and identifying what tools are needed. It will also explore the difference between Medicare and other third-party payers and address the benefits of a well-oiled “appeal machine.”
