DURAVIT LOOKS TO THE FUTURE OF THE BATHROOM WITH VIU AND XVIU
Stand-out Collection Showcases Leading Technology,Fresh Finishes, and Nuanced Geometry

(May 2019 -- Duluth, GA) - Duravit and sieger design are presenting a
complete bathroom range that exudes future-facing design with their new
collection of Viu ceramics and XViu furniture. The industrial elegance of
the series emerges from the interplay of soft, organic forms with precise
geometry and details finished to a previously unattained level of
perfection. With contemporary contrasts of ceramic, glass, and metal
against matt lacquer and real wood, and boundary-pushing material and
technological innovation, Viu and XViu pursue a new vision for the modern
bathroom.

The new range outfits the entire bathroom with Viu ceramics (washbasins,
toilets, and bidets), XViu furniture (vanity units, storage cabinets,
mirrors, and mirror cabinets), and matching bathtubs. Recurring design
elements and surprising details tie the collection together to work in
harmony.

“The Viu ceramics and XViu furniture range exemplify Duravit’s appeal to
the US market via their forward-thinking, detail-oriented, and
design-centric sensibilities,” states Duravit USA President Tim Schroeder.
“The entire line puts forth the best of today’s technology and material
innovation with a classically modern language and applicability to today's
lifestyle."

The highlight of the collection is a washing area made possible by
Duravit’s patented c-bonded technology. The exterior is a crisp rectangle,
while the interior features gentle organic curves with a spacious inner
basin and generous shelf. The edge of the tap platform continues as a
subtle outer line, while the detail of the horizontal overflow within the
basin underlines the horizontal alignment of the outer shape. The interior
ceramic calls to mind the flowing softness of water. To keep the clean
shape, the white ceramic cover of the push valve is set flush to the
basin, even when open.

The ceramic is set in a supporting metal console with a V-shaped profile
that features prominent contours in chic Champagne Matt or avant garde
Black Matt. The vanity can be further enhanced with a glass shelf in four
color variants. From a different angle, the three-dimensional legs of the
metal console visually transform into fine lines. This level of perfection
extends to the tiniest detail: the acrylic paneling on the underside of
the basin conceals the fixing structure, cables, and connecting hoses so
as to not impact the overall design, regardless of the angle from which it
is viewed.

The Viu washbasins are fully glazed from beneath and available in five
sizes (24 ¾” – 48 3/8”) to offer a design solution for any space. Their
shape echoes the design of the c-bonded washbasin. The washing area can
also be completed with a furniture washbasin, built-in washbasin, or
above-counter washbasin and matching vanity unit with pull-out compartment
or two drawers. All display the signature, V-shaped lateral aluminum
profiles of the collection in Champagne Matt or Black Matt. A mix of
materials such as real wood, lacquer, and decor can be combined with the
metals to create a rich contrast or subtle tone-on-tone look. The
furniture doors are available in semi-transparent smoked glass and are
technically optimized yet visually subtle, with smooth hinge straps that
softly open and close.

The mirrors and mirror cabinets with fully mirrored sides reflect the
individual design language of XViu. Models can be fitted with a sensor
switch to offer maximum comfort with dimmable lighting. XViu also offers a
mirror with icon control on the mirror surface (a first for mirror
cabinets) that includes an ambient light mode and colored light switching
function: at a luminosity of more than 300 lux, the light color can be
continuously adjusted from 2,700 (warm light) to 6,500 (cold light)
kelvin.

An eye-catching centerpiece of the XViu collection, the freestanding
bathtub features a prominent metal frame and familiar V-shaped profile
that comes in Champagne Matt or Black Matt - serving as a statement-making
contrast to the high-gloss white acrylic of the bathtub itself. Similarly
striking, the rectangular frame forms a clean geometric outline that adds
dynamism to the ergonomic and organic tub interior. The freestanding
bathtub is available in 63” x 31 ½” and 70 7/8” x 31 ½”.

The Viu toilets and bidets round out the collection, mirroring the range’s
focus on geometry and fine details. Improved Rimless ® technology ensures
outstanding flush performance, while metal buttons positioned on the sides
allow for easy removal of the seat cover to simplify cleaning. SensoWash ®
Slim is additionally available for the toilets.

XViu’s bathroom furniture is available in 34 finishes and is designed to
pair with pieces from Vero Air, ME by Starck and P3 Comforts. Viu’s
ceramics can be combined with the XSquare, L-Cube and Brioso furniture
series.
