UPLAND, Calif. (June 21, 2018) – JoeFroyo will return to the Western Food Expo in Los Angeles, August 19–21, 2018, to exhibit and sample its lactose-free Functional Cold Brew™ beverage at Booth 414 at the co-located Healthy Food Expo West.

JoeFroyo Functional Cold Brew™ combines the kick of caffeine from 100% Arabica cold brew with probiotics and protein, provided by lactose-free cultured milk. Featuring 15 grams of natural protein per 12-ounce serving and six live and active probiotic cultures, JoeFroyo adds valuable health benefits from dairy, all while remaining 100% lactose-free. It also contains no added sugar, no artificial colors or sweeteners, no preservatives and no gluten.

JoeFroyo debuted its Functional Cold Brew™ product at last year’s Western Food Expo. In the year since, JoeFroyo has launched retail sales in the greater Los Angeles and Seattle/Tacoma areas.

Founder and CEO Zach Miller came up with the idea for JoeFroyo Functional Cold Brew™ after years of experience owning and operating specialty coffee and frozen yogurt businesses. “One of our most popular menu items was what we called the ‘Yo-gato’ – vanilla frozen yogurt with one or two shots of espresso floated on top,” said Miller. As the functional beverage category began to take off, he realized that combining espresso with the health benefits of protein and probiotics from cultured milk could fill a gap in the functional beverage market.

Currently available by self-distribution in the greater Los Angeles and the Seattle/Tacoma areas, the company offers JoeFroyo Functional Cold Brew™ in a 12-ounce bottled, ready-to-drink (RTD) version, as well as an over-ice version (via one-gallon jug for pour-overs or a 2.5-gallon bag-in-box to be used in dairy dispensers) and a frozen blended dispensed version.
