Cogent Energy Services Acquires Four New Coiled Tubing Spreads

PRESS RELEASE

HOUSTON, Texas, July 25, 2017 — Today, Cogent Energy Services announced the acquisition of four additional coiled tubing spreads, including a two-and-three-eighths unit. The purchase increases Cogent’s spread count to nine units to better support their services in the Eagle Ford, Permian, Haynesville, Barnett and Mid-Con.  The company also offers their workover rig product line in the Permian and Eagle Ford.

Cogent’s Chief Executive Officer, Chet Erwin, has built successful companies in the energy services sector for more than 31 years.  He co-founded Hanover Compression Company, Valerus Compression Services and Diverse Energy Systems.  On the company’s latest gains, Erwin said, “Cogent has been active in Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana since we began coil tubing operations in February. The addition of these new units will allow us to better service the upstream markets.”

Cogent entered the market in September 2016 with the acquisition of a well services company in the Permian Basin.  In less than one business year, Cogent has more than doubled fleet operations.  With nearly 75 MSAs with key operators and branch operations in the Permian, Eagle Ford, and Haynesville, Cogent is poised to be a substantial service provider for the domestic coiled tubing market.

Headquartered in Houston, the company has steadily increased its success by providing best-in-class equipment with a world-class service team. Cogent is pleased that the legacy operations team based in Northern Louisiana and East Texas will join the trusted and experienced Cogent crews. Together, they will provide efficiency, unmatched performance and dedication to safety on each and every job.
