The Pretty Rugged Blanket™ is the first and only wrap to have luxurious, premium faux fur on one side and waterproof, windproof, spill-proof RuggedTex® fabric on the other. It is designed for use by style-conscious adventurers anywhere there is wind, water, snow or simply the need for warmth and comfort.
Tracy Slocum, Founder and President of Pretty Rugged Gear, was inspired to create her unique product by the historic maritime explorations of her great-great grandfather, Captain Joshua Slocum. While sailing solo around the world on his 36-foot sloop, the Captain would often wrap himself in hardy fur for protection against the elements.
An avid boater herself, Slocum recognized the need for a modern, stylish and functional take on this idea. She worked with top fashion consultants to make her vision a reality and introduced the Pretty Rugged Blanket™ at fashion shows, trade shows and networking events during 2017. Strong demand led to the October launch of prettyruggedgear.com.
The Pretty Rugged Blanket™ is available in three fashion colors—Frost Gray, Arctic Blue and Glacial White. All are constructed of high-end faux fur that is as close as possible to the real thing—never coarse or scratchy. The blue and white faux minks have ½ inch pile, while the gray is a luscious 2 inches thick.
Each 4 ft. by 6 ft. blanket has a zippered pocket to keep personal items safe and dry. The triangular corner pocket also can be embroidered with the owner’s name or initials, a corporate logo or other artwork. Blankets come in a stylish satin duster for easy storage and include a carrying strap for “take it anywhere” convenience.
