MINDFUL DESIGN TURNS SEASONAL ACCESSORYINTO MUST-HAVE WARDROBE PIECE FOR SPRING-SUMMER
New York, NY – July 26, 2019 – Often considered the modest and seasonal understudy of the wardrobe, scarves are set to be the diva of the SS2020 season, according to the Australian fashion accessory brand, dog&boy.
Founder of dog&boy, Sonya Michele, aims to create pieces that tell stories through design; modern classics that stand the test of time, and remain relevant in wardrobes season after season.
As with all dog&boy’s scarf designs, their new SS2020 collection dares to stand aside from the sea of cookie-cutter fast fashion brands, putting mindfulness and emotion at the forefront of its design.
Commenting on the collection, Sonya said, “Fashion is emotional, it’s all about how our clothes make us feel – and I want dog&boy to make the wearer feel fashionable without being a slave to fashion. Mindful design is a core value of dog&boy. We are advocates of a curated wardrobe, and believe that pieces should serve more than one function. With this in mind, we feature our designs in alternative wearing styles beyond a standard seasonal accessory particularly in the warmer months.”
To showcase the versatility of these accessories, dog&boy will feature at NY NOW’s first runway show on Saturday August 10, curated by Farai Simoyi, creative consultant and international fashion brand builder.
Currently stocked in over 45 locations through the US after a hugely successful initial showcasing at NY NOW in February 2019, dog&boy will launch exclusively their SS2020 collection at NY NOW this August.
Sonya has been invited to join a panel of industry experts at the NY NOW Transcend Talks to share her business story in the discussion, ‘How Following Your Passion Has Changed Your Career’.
The brand also features in the destination:new display which will highlight one of the latest dog&boy designs, as well as being nominated as a contender in the Best New Product Awards at NY NOW.
