Bee's Wrap: Sustainable Food Storage | Because Good Food Deserves Good Care

Our Story

Bee’s Wrap® is the natural alternative to plastic wrap for food storage — because good food deserves good care.

We started with a question: How could we eliminate plastics in our kitchen in favor of a healthier way to store food?

The solution we discovered is as beautiful as it is simple. Bee’s Wrap makes reusable food storage wraps, handcrafted in Vermont from just four ingredients: organic cotton, sustainably harvested beeswax, organic jojoba oil, and tree resin. The natural antibacterial properties of beeswax and jojoba oil help keep food fresh, and allow Bee’s Wrap to be used again and again.

Bee’s Wrap is practical, versatile, and reusable. Wrap up a hunk of cheese, half a lemon, a loaf of homemade bread. Use the warmth of your hands to form our wraps around a piece of food or over a bowl or casserole dish. As the wrap cools, the seal will hold its shape.

Bee’s Wrap is available in more than 3000 stores across the United States, and can be found in the gift, grocery, housewares, and outdoor markets. Bee’s Wrap is also distributed internationally throughout Europe, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and parts of Asia.

New for 2019

The Oceans Print

Inspired by our shores, seas, and waterways, our new-for-2019 Oceans print celebrates these vast and important resources, and marks our commitment to preventing plastic pollution. We’ve partnered with 1% for the Planet to donate a percentage of sales from this print to organizations supporting ocean conservancy, beach cleanups, and water stewardship.

If we don’t reverse course, our oceans could contain more plastic than fish by 2050. Already, plastic pollution litters our shores, clogs our waterways, and kills millions of marine animals each year. Single-use plastics are among the greatest culprits of this pollution. Join us as we stem the tide on plastic pollution. Learn more about our giving mission at the “Giving Back” portion of our website, and follow along as we share updates on the projects we support on social media and our blog.

About the Founder

Sarah Kaeck founded Bee's Wrap in 2012. Searching for an alternative to disposable plastics in her own kitchen, and pulling from her longtime love of textiles and art, she infused organic cotton with beeswax, organic jojoba oil, and tree resin. The resulting reusable wraps provide a versatile way to store food, as beautiful as it is sustainable.

In the six years since founding Bee's Wrap, Kaeck has grown the business to more than 35 employees with a global presence. Sarah is available for interviews on sustainability, women in business, and social entrepreneurship.

Bee’s Wrap® Basics

Ingredients

Bee’s Wrap is made from just four ingredients: Global Organic Textile Standard-certified organic cotton, sustainably harvested beeswax, organic jojoba oil, and tree resin.

Uses

Bee’s Wrap can be used to cover a bowl, wrap up cheese, fruit, vegetables and bread, or to pack a snack for your next adventure. Bee’s Wrap is available in 5 sizes; use the smallest to save a lemon or avocado, and the largest to cover a casserole or save a loaf of bread. The popular sandwich wrap makes it easy to pack snacks or lunch for on-the-go eating.

Care

Bee’s Wrap is reusable. Rinse with cool water and soap, hang to dry, and repeat. Used several times each week, Bee’s Wrap will last for roughly one year. Bee’s Wrap is biodegradable and compostable.
