Economical and Sustainable TwoFer(R) Shelf Tags Disrupt Retail Shelf Tag Technology

A new disruptive retail shelf edge technology positively impacting retailers’ bottom lines and sustainability goals is being showcased at the National Grocers Association Show by TwoFer® Linerless Label Solutions. Patented TwoFer linerless products provide twice the usable product per pound offering half the shelf talker cost and half the environmental impact.

TwoFer recyclable Back-to-Back paper-based tag labels, without a silicone coated liner, provide film-like performance without curl, even in refrigerated use. The combination of a strong polymer enhanced face stock and an aggressive, removable adhesive allows the tag to adhere to plastic and metal shelving even in chilled environments, and remove easily when desired.

Developed and patented* by NAStar Inc., TwoFer shelf tags utilize half the product weight to produce the same quantity of product at comparable thickness. Alternating Adhesive and Release Patterns allow for two printed label sheets without liner to be held together, back-to-back, until ready to apply create the most environmentally responsible shelf label solution available.

Store labor is reduced as store personnel have half the labels to peel and no liner pieces to discard.  Printing efficiency is achieved with high speed duplex printing producing two labels at the speed of one traditional label. Transportation costs are reduced 50% with half the weight and cost to ship finished tags to individual stores.

TwoFer Shelf Talkers run on a variety of toner based digital equipment and are on the TSL (Tested Substrate List) for Xerox’s Igen. Finishing equipment allow the tags to be boxed or perforated in planogram sequence in a single pass.

TwoFer Linerless Solutions is a business unit of NAStar Inc. NAStar, a specialty manufacturer of self-adhesive products, also provides grocery retailers with NewsNotes® Advertising labels affixed to newspapers and inserts, promotional in-store label applications, and Print’N Stick Food Safety and Order Confirmation Receipt Labels for food service.
