SYNERGY ORGANIC CLOTHING

Synergy Organic Clothing was founded by Kate Fisher during her first trip to Nepal in the fall of 1993. Inspired by the beautiful fabrics and textiles of South East Asia and by the friendships she made there, Kate returned home and began to design clothing based on this inspiration. The roots of Synergy were born.

In the fall of 2006 she partnered with her husband Henry Schwab as the company began focusing on making eco conscious clothing. Together they formed a family operated business committed to producing clothing with the highest environmental and ethical principles. At the core, Synergy is not only committed to creating clothing with a minimal environmental impact, but also empowering men and women through ethical employment practices.

As a family run business in Santa Cruz, California Kate and Henry are directly connected to all of the moving parts that make up the business, and are connected to Synergy’s family of employees both within the United States and overseas. Together they have been able to fuse their passion for clothing design and the care of our planet, by creating a sustainable business model that is cared for with great love and dedication. Thank you for being a part of our Synergy story.

At Synergy, we believe that it matters how your clothing is made. We believe that consumers deserve the choice to buy clothing they feel good about wearing with the knowledge of where and how it was produced. From our home base in Santa Cruz, California to our handwork seamstresses in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal, our Synergy family is part of a global community with purpose. We believe in creating high quality goods by supporting the well-being of those who make our business possible.

Our clothing begins with GOTS certified organic cotton grown and loomed into fabric in India. Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a lower impact on the environment than conventionally grown cotton such as not using toxic pesticides or synthetic fertilizers and without using genetically engineered seed. All of our fabrics are also made with low impact dyes. These dyes have a high absorption rate, which decreases the use of rinse water and produces less waste.

Each garment is ethically sewn in a GOTS certified factory by men and women who are paid a living wage for their work. Every Synergy Organic Clothing garment sewn by a well-trained man or woman tells a story of skill, craftsmanship, and care. By treating our employees with respect we create garments that are not only high quality, but that are empowering the people who made them.

We believe that consumers deserve the choice to buy clothing that they feel good about wearing with the knowledge of where and how it was produced. We strive to empower consumers to make more purposeful choices in the clothing they buy and wear. Ethical fashion is about more than just clothing, it is casting a vote for the type of future you want for the world and the people who live on it.
