Dovetail Debuts Outerwear, not Otherwear at Booth #VO229-SL

A new line of winterized outerwear and Cosy™️ workpants by and for women hits the market.

Portland, OR—December 10, 2018— For its Fall-Winter ’19 collection, Dovetail Workwear has engineered a line of versatile and tough coats, jackets and vests, engineered for the ultimate union of technology and tailoring.

“Until now, women who work outdoors in cold climates had to repurpose ungainly foul-weather gear or pay a pretty penny for shiny outdoor gear that easily snags and rips on a job site,” co-founder Sara DeLuca said. “These are the pieces that are born from long conversations with women in the field, in the shop and on-site.”

The new line includes:

The Eli Chore Coat, fashioned from strong, abrasion-resistant Cordura® Nylon stretch with a fleece core and poly-fill insulation. This breathable waterproof coat features a longer back, underarm vents, shoulder blade swing gussets, peripheral vision at the hood and five intuitive pockets. MSRP: $199

The Evaleen Trucker Jacket, available in waterproof and windproof soft-shell fleece or water-resistant waxed canvas. It includes reinforced elbows, a utility sleeve pocket, four additional deep pockets and low-profile metal rivets at stress points. MSRP: $139

The Mfon Work Vest in waterproof, windproof soft-shell fleece, which has been tailored for ultimate fit and function with high neck coverage, three deep pockets and low-profile metal rivets at stress points. MSRP: $99

In addition to their new outerwear collection, Dovetail’s FW ’19 line includes new Cosy™️ denim work bottoms in the Britt Utility straight-leg pant (MSRP $109) and Freshley overalls (MSRP: $139). Comparable to a flannel-lined pant, this product is made of an innovative all-in-one fleeced denim, featuring insulation and wind resistance while removing unnecessary bulk and extra lining. Dovetail worked with world-renowned fabric innovator ISKO to incorporate essential weather-proofing properties into the stretch denim.

The 13-to-14-ounce denim-fleece fabric is 40 percent warmer than regular denim or canvas in terms of thermoregulation and windproof properties. Garnering rave reviews from female wear testers working in the winter climes of Antarctica, Alaska and Colorado, the Cosy Britt Utility pant received Gear Junkies “Best in Show” Award at the ORWM 2018.

About Dovetail Workwear

Dovetail Workwear started with three women — two with muddy knees and one knee-deep in textiles. Co-founders Kate Day and Kyle Marie Begley owned a residential design/build landscaping firm in Portland, Oregon, called Moxie & Moss Gardening. Digging in the wet Pacific Northwest soil was uncomfortable, their everyday jeans weren’t up to the task and workwear marketed to women was ill-fitting or in stereotypical colors and styles. When they met client and apparel industry expert Sara DeLuca, the three took things into their own hands, designing and producing the Maven pant to address these shortcomings.

That pant was the catalyst for Dovetail Workwear, a women-led company committed to providing head-to-toe workwear for women and anyone else seeking work apparel defined by quality, fit, function and style. Dovetail provides financial and in-kind support to organizations and nonprofits that empower women and girls in non-traditional fields.
