Albany, NY, 2018 - Pretty Rugged returns to the prestigious NY NOW 2019 Winter Market to bring the warmth to buyers. The company is introducing five new products to its line-up to bring more warm luxury to everyone. These new products - a wristlet, tote bag, caplet, hat, and blazer are an extension of the high-quality products the company has become known for.
Tracy Slocum, President and Founder of Pretty Rugged, shares: “Pretty Rugged is so much more than luxurious, versatile blankets. We truly feel we can bring the Pretty Rugged design and feeling to more aspects of your life.” Tracy continues: “The products we’re introducing at NY NOW 2019 Winter Market are helping us to become a brand that will stand the test of time.”
2018 was not only its first year in business but saw a number of exciting accolades for such a young company. Their year began with being awarded not one, but two awards at NY NOW 2018 Winter Market. They were honored with both “Best in Market” and “Best New Product”.
Tracy reminisces about this moment: “It was our first trade show, the company was only a few months old! If we wanted to make this company what we dreamed it could be, we had to be there. We knew our blankets were great, but this validation from industry experts was incredible and we’re still harnessing that feeling to build a world-class brand.”
Off the back of this success, Pretty Rugged introduced two new blankets specifically designed for other members of the family. “The product line expansions we had in 2018 were an evolution of everything we’ve done to date,” shares Tracy. The first, a baby blanket keeping with the softest faux-fur and RuggedTex® backing the company is known for. The second, a blanket for the four-legged family members - designed to keep pets comfortable wherever they are.
Culminating a strong first year for the brand, and the icing on the cake, was the selection of their pet blanket as one of Oprah’s Favorite Things in 2018. “We knew Oprah’s team was considering Pretty Rugged for her favorite things list, but it’s so competitive and Oprah truly hand selects each of them, it was and is one of the proudest moments for Pretty Rugged.”
