NAU 2019 COLLECTION SHOWCASES PERFORMANCE VERSATILITY IN SUSTAINABLE FABRICS

New Spring Styles and Materials Ideal for Travel and Spring Layering

(Portland, OR) July 23, 2018 – The spring-summer 2019 collection from Nau embraces the brand’s evergreen commitment to produce smart, sustainable and versatile apparel that wears well from season to season, year after year. From outerwear to everyday essentials, Nau pushes its fabrics forward in the applications of breathability and versatility, without sacrificing aesthetic. Drawing on success and inspiration from past seasons, this upcoming collection welcomes back some of the technologies and practices that made Nau a pioneer in sustainable apparel over ten years ago, with a strong emphasis on weight, packability and high-functioning style. The collection will be available beginning in February 2019 at select specialty retailers, Nau’s flagship store in Portland, OR, and at www.nau.com

NEW PRODUCT: SEQUENCHSHELL SERIES

Continuing its mission to always strive for better and design products in the best way possible, Nau takes inspiration from its iconic Quintessentshell and creates an even lighter and sleeker style for Spring 2019. The new Sequenchshell embodies the same high-performing, waterproof hardshell of its antecedent model, but debuts in the 2019 collection with twenty-five percent less fabric weight and an updated three-layer construction. This lighter construction allows for improved packability, movement and comfort without compromising any of its protective functionality. A touch of two-way mechanical stretch in a unique dobby-structure weave also provides increased mobility in a visually refined take on the traditional ripstop shell. The Sequenchshell series will consist of a Trench and Jacket silhouette for both men and women.

MODERNIZED HEMP BLENDS

Nau utilizes the naturally strong, wicking and breathable hemp fiber to develop a new offering of warm-weather layering pieces for spring and summer. Cultivated for centuries, hemp proves to be intrinsically sustainable, as it requires no pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or GMO seeds to produce. When enzyme-washed and blended with Nau’s certified organic cotton, hemp styles offer a soft, lightweight and cooling quality that is ideal for outdoor travel and activity. Nau matures this technology in 2019 with its Aere and Bloq styles, which each feature uniquely woven fabric constructions to optimize free-flowing fit and near-weightless feel.

PROTECTION + PERFORMANCE: THE UPGRADED FLAXIBLE

For Spring 2019, Nau’s Flaxible series gets an upgraded nod to performance with the addition of polyester to its original TENCEL and linen blend. The combination of these three fabrics allows for multifaceted functionality that’s inclusive of lightweight breathability, natural wrinkle resistance, superior moisture management, odor control and boosted durability and strength. While this season’s upgraded silhouettes maintain the signature slub-textured drape and cool handfeel of previous Flaxible styles, new additions also marry modern detailing with refined cuts to achieve a more architectural, contemporary aesthetic and versatile wear.
