EAT CLAY LOVE. Studio and Gallery

“Supporting Adults with disabilities”

ECL is a full functioning clay studio and art gallery, founded as a venue for people
with disabilities to make and market their work in the community and through social media.

WORC has run a ceramics program for 26 years and as of Oct. 1, 2017, the studio is now privately owned and operated independent of WORC.  ECL Founder, Candone Wharton, artist and teacher, has been working with WORC for over 6 years.  Her experience in studio and retail work has laid the foundation for Eat Clay Love to become a reality This project has opened new doors for the ceramics department and given the participants paying jobs in the community.  ECL (Eat Clay Love) hires only adults with disabilities to make, pack and sell their products.  The main focus is the Official ornament of Daytona Beach, now in it’s 27th year.   Eat Clay Love has already started the 2018 ornament production and hope to have them for sale early October.

In the meantime, you are welcome to visit ECL Gallery at WORC.  The newly renovated gallery showcases and sells wonderful creations.  Not only do they sell current and past ornaments, but also a fine collection of ceramic items, such as mugs, plates, vases and a beautiful collection of handmade ceramic jewelry.  In our support of companies that hire people with disabilities, we also offer other products, for example, coffee, chocolate, soaps and candles.

Besides making wonderful ceramic art, one of the many goals is to encourage other businesses to hire people with disabilities. Please contact WORC with any employment opportunities you may have for our participants.  ECL promises your office or store will be a happier place!
