Devices are based on Intel® technology and deliver whole home Wi-Fi connectivity
Hsinchi Taiwan – 10/05/2018: CBN (Compal Broadband Networks) today announced they are expanding their CH device family with two new 802.11ac Voice Gateways that offer gigabit broadband speeds and deliver the whole-home connectivity required for next-generation services in the home. The CH85782 and CH75662 are CBN’s first smart gateways to use Intel’s home wi-fi technology which helps them deliver fast, uninterrupted connectivity to a growing number of connected devices simultaneously. The CH85782 is a DOCSIS 3.1 Smart Gateway based on the Intel® Puma™ 7 SoC and the Intel® Home Wi-Fi Chipset WAV500 Series, and the CH75662 is a 24x8 DOCSIS 3.0 gateway based on the the Intel® Puma™ 6 SoC and the Intel® Home Wi-Fi Chipset WAV500 Series. With the Intel technology, the wireless traffic is fully offloaded with zero CPU utilization, freeing up the CPU performance to support advanced services while still delivering a consistent user experience.
Both gateways offer two FXS ports of carrier-grade VoIP, a 4-port gigabit router and dual band concurrent 4x4 5GHz and 3 x 3 2.4GHz Wi-Fi performance in a single integrated device. CBN fully supports most common software requirements, including RDK-B, Dual Stack IPv4/IPv6 Home Router, PacketCable 1.5, 2.0, and Plume integration.
With CBN’s proven success in Europe learned through the deployment of over ten million CH family DOCSIS devices, CBN is now ready to expand into the North America and Latin America markets. The CH85782 is now available for samples and will be generally available in early 2019. The CH75662 will be available for sample requests by December 2018 and will be generally available in early 2019.
