Big River Trading Company, located in Tama, Iowa, has launched a new vape division within their company with the Outagami line of e-juice.
Outagami is distributed by Meskwaki, Inc. through Big River Trading Company. Meskwaki Inc. is an economic development effort aimed at diversifying the tribe’s revenue portfolio while providing employment opportunities to members of the Meskwaki Nation. The name, “Outagami,” was originally given to the people of the Meskwaki Nation by the French, meaning “people from the other shore.”
“Sharing the pipe and creating clouds comes full circle as we gather in social settings today to partake in creating clouds,” explains Carol Guetschow, General Manager of Big River Trading Company. “Native Americans have passed the peace pipe in a social manner to solidify agreements, create conversation and perform rituals, making this ancient practice of gathering, an important part of Native American history.”

The Big River Trading Co. team was traveling to a trade show when they passed through Peculiar, Oklahoma, and the name stuck around to become an e-juice flavor. Local artist, Teaghan Buffalo, created the label for the Peculiar line. Hubble Bubble is named after the Big River CEO, Mark Hubble, and even features an illustrated image on its metallic label. Lastly, the e-juice flavor No Dice pays homage to the Meskwaki Bingo Casino and Hotel, the economic supplier for the tribe for more than 25 years.
