CNIguard: Launching the next generation of Manhole Monitoring at IEEE PES T&D 2018

In line with its policy of continued investment in R&D and ongoing product improvement, CNIguard is delighted to announce that its Manitor Manhole Monitoring System (MMS) - which is already successfully deployed as SX1.0 - has been updated, released and is now being delivered with significant additional functionality.

The latest SX1.5 release expands on the previous first generation product to include several new capabilities:

  • DC input for mains power
  • Expanded batteries for extended life
  • Stray voltage sensor
  • Additional gas sensor
  • IR (infrared) camera for heat signature detection
  • Enriched analytics at the edge
  • Enhanced dashboard to optimize inspections, alert generation, and reports

“Manitor MMS is an end to end solution with multi sector application including electricity, gas, water, telecoms and transport infrastructure. We have, therefore, developed Manitor as feature rich from the outset, and SX1.5 represents a significant enhancement,” said CNIguard’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Edward Klinger.

“We’re heading into an exciting phase where we’ll have around 10,000 deployed Manitor units preventing real incidents and proving ROI via predictive maintenance. We are exponentially amassing data from underground networks enabling our end users, for the first time, to see and understand what’s going on in their infrastructure - perpetually and in real-time. Enabled benefits are also created whereby the data from Manitor installed in electrical manholes, for example, can optimize the operations of the transit or sanitation departments. Our hosting and monitoring service underpins this data fusion platform and  informs our solution roadmap,” he concluded.

CNIguard will be showcasing Manitor SX1.5 on Booth #3512 at IEEE PES T&D 2018.

The next generation SX2.0 is scheduled for release in Q2 2018 with even more features, including a visual camera, ground temperature, and salinity, together with power harvesting capabilities.
