CDI Partners with Parlay to Promote Meaningful and Measurable Student Discussions

CDI becomes exclusive provider of Parlay software for K-12 schools in the U.S. and Canada

Chicago IL – Nov. 7, 2018 CDI Computer Dealers, a leading provider of classroom-ready technology to schools, has partnered with Toronto-based Parlay to bring its new online classroom discussion tool to schools throughout North America.

Parlay helps teachers inspire meaningful, measurable and inclusive student discussions. This partnership is the latest way CDI supports schools by providing wrap-around educational technology.

Erez Pikar, CDI’s president is excited about the partnership.  “Our team fell in love with Parlay from the first demo,” he said “Parlay manages a rare combination of focus, beauty and well thought out pedagogy in a tool that we are eager to introduce to educators.”

CDI partners with educators in schools and districts across North America to deploy and support classroom technologies. The company provides student and teacher devices, a wide range of classroom technology and instructional tools, professional development, deployment services and warranty programs.

"At Parlay, we have spent the past three years working with teachers and students to build a world-class educational experience. The partnership with CDI provides the opportunity to engage a broader audience of educators across North America,” said Bobby McDonald, Parlay founder and CEO. “CDI shares our commitment to inclusivity and equal access to technology. We believe that technology development must be based on the best strategies for improving the classroom experience. We are excited about this partnership and the impact it will have on classrooms across the continent.”

Parlay helps promote meaningful student discussions while teaching digital citizenship and helping teachers measure student engagement. The program offers a library of discussion prompts called the Parlay Universe and two classroom activities called Live RoundTables and Online RoundTables.

“When my students use Parlay, their discussions continue outside of class; they are no longer restricted by the boundaries of class time,” said Parlay customer Nick Day, director of the AP Capstone Program at St. Andrew's College in Aurora, Ontario. “Student engagement has been greater, and they are able to apply and refine skills they learn in class while considering real-world issues.”
