Jewelry designer Marie Cabirou brings a touch of magic to her fascinating
design with yet another Fine Jewelry collection. MARIE MAS debuts the
magical re-interpretation of ‘Swinging Stones’ collection next month at the
COUTURE Show, in Las Vegas. The zeitgeist for kinetic jewelry, this time, is
dramatically captured by an enchanting diamond collection.
The highly playful and modern design infuses poetic movements through
reversible silhouettes, celebrating the timeless beauty of diamonds juxtapose
with tourmalines. The precious collection draws inspiration from biomimétisme,
the mysteries of the underwater world and elements in nature. The unique
pieces, crafted using ingenious patented mechanisms, mirror the artistic skills
and fervent attention to detail.
“I am looking for movement, poetry in the mechanism’s complexity, and I
love to bring a touch of magic to my jewels – meld it with a playful twist. My
jewelry comes alive when it’s worn and that’s why I want it to take you on
a delightful journey,” says Marie. “I have been toying with the idea of using
diamonds in my design for a while and I have been endlessly drawn to the
timeless beauty and elegance of these stones. I am so thrilled at being able to
realize these in shimmering diamonds.”
The new adaption is a subtle departure from the previous pastel-hued jewels
that hinged on pinks and blues, revealing the beauty of water and hidden
depth of oceans. The distinct design approach and innate sense of style
comes to the fore in the 15-piece line (two necklaces, six rings, six earrings
and a bracelet) set in 18K pink gold, with the high jewelry rendered in 18K
white gold.
