Studiola is a multifaceted workshop located in Phoenix, AZ.  Installation, art work and designs playfully explore space and functionality.  CeCe Cole, artist and designer, has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally.  

Cece Cole was born and raised in Louisiana. She received her BFA in Media Studies from the University of Louisiana. After graduation she traveled the USA and abroad before earning her MFA at the University of Iowa. Cole was the first recipient of the prestigious annual Virginia Commonwealth University Painting/Printmaking Residency and Fellowship Award at Plant Zero. She later served as Assistant Professor in the VCU Painting and Printmaking Department. Cole now lives and works in Phoenix, AZ and is represented by ADA Gallery in Richmond, VA. Her exhibition record includes University of Iowa Art Museum, Midwest Exhibitions in Chicago, IL and Reynolds Gallery, ADA Gallery and Solvent Space Gallery in Richmond,VA. She was awarded a solo exhibition at Wave Hill Cultural Center, Bronx, NY. As a former member of the collective Paintallica, she has participated in collaborative events at the Time Based Art Fair in Portland, OR and at Country Club Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. Cole’s work has been exhibited internationally in Berlin, Germany and with “Your Passports Please” an exhibition that originated in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has been reviewed in Sculpture Magazine, NY Arts, D’art International and online by Pelican Bomb. Recent projects and drawing series include “Thinking About Meditating” and “In Light of Events”. Her latest large scale, adaptive installation called “Atmospheric Perspectives” was included in “Invisible Like Gravity” a group exhibition at the Acadiana Center for the Arts, Lafayette, LA.   — Submitted by ADA Gallery
