MINNEAPOLIS, March 23, 2018 -- Minneapolis-based design studio Senn & Sons will be debuting a collection of original illustrations and patterns by designer Kim Senn at SURTEX 2018 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, NY May 20-22. This will the first time the company is publicly exhibiting works for sale and licensing. Visitors to Booth #2552 will get the first glimpse at Senn’s colorful, hand-drawn artwork, a sampling of products, and a chance to meet the artist in person.
Founded in 2011 by artist and designer Kim Senn, Senn & Sons specializes in creating surface and pattern designs, children’s products, and paper goods. Kim finds inspiration in the small details of family life, the adventures that come with being a mom to energetic little boys, and the occasional quiet moments in between. A lifelong creator, doodler and tinkerer originally from Wisconsin, Kim spent her 20s roaming the world working in advertising, a career that took her from Minnesota to New York, London, and San Francisco. She has settled most recently with her family of four in Minneapolis. After leaving advertising and finding a supportive audience for her original art, fine art prints, personalized wall hangings, and baby products, Kim began partnering with larger companies to share her original designs with a broader audience. Her first partnership was with Blue Sky to bring a line of planners and calendars to Target stores nationwide and they continue to create new, colorful collections of colorful products for Target and other major retailers across the country.
“I’m thrilled to be sharing my work at SURTEX this year,” Senn says. “It’s my first time at the show and I’m looking forward to meeting with potential new clients, partners, and collaborators along with fellow artists and designers! I absolutely love working with companies to bring their product visions to life with my designs and hope to develop meaningful connections throughout the process.”
