Press release for Surtex 2018

Patricia Nugent Design announces that original paintings and digital art will be shown alongside antique and vintage art for a captivating new way to look at surface design for Surtex 2018. Three experienced Designers with fresh approaches to paper goods, textiles and ceramics will be featured.

Rizu Ito, a Japanese artist who trained at  Joshibi High School of Art and Design in Tokyo,Japan, has painted seasonal themes and florals in her beautiful watercolor hand. Also from Rizu: wood block animals from around the world and modern Jacobean / Persian inspired tree of life woodblocks and paintings.

Pamela Morgan, an accomplished Designer from New York, painted textile designs for major top of bed brands, is now creating for us. Her hand is lovely for Modern Toile Florals, Scenics, Conversationals and Nursery designs for all surfaces and for textiles. Included in her portfolio Modern Florals for ceramics and tabletop.

Claire Nordloh, trained in apparel and surface design at the University of Cincinnati, started her career at Abercrombie and Fitch and is now creating paper goods and tabletop designs exclusively for us. Her current collection has a Nautical and Americana sensibility.

We will also exhibit antique floral and Jacobean paintings on paper, tree of life woodblocks, vintage coastal and nautical designs, tropical and patio prints,  printed textures for sheeting, curtains and shades and Circa 1855 yarn dye plaids.
