Local Company Advocates #tandembikelife to Make a Difference Locally and Around the World

MICHIGAN – July 2017 – Tandem For Two, LLC announces the launch of their social media initiative #tandembikelife, with the aim to give financial resources to those in need in local communities.

The company’s initiative is inspired by a 1968 orange tandem bike that Tandem For Two owner, Jennifer Smelker, found in a Midwest farmer's barn. After her teenage son’s suggestion, it became the source of her company name and logo. It has become a great symbol of how she feels we ride in this life together.

“I want to live the #tandembikelife,” said Smelker. “And I don't just mean riding my bike around our beach town. We aren't in this life alone and I want to lean on others and be leaned on. Sometimes we have to pedal harder and let someone coast because they need the rest. Or we need extra strength from someone because of the rough road we're on.  In this little business of mine, I lean and rely on a lot of people. I wouldn't be doing what I am today without the help of others.”

Every year, Tandem For Two has given 10% of their profits back to communities, particularly those torn apart by natural disasters, refugees fleeing from their communities or those living without a place to call home. The company celebrates where they live and where life takes them and they say part of that celebration is making the products in their communities and involving others on the journey. “That’s part of the #tandembikelife,” Smelker insists and she encourages others to have this philosophy. Organizations are invited to contact the company if there are ways you’d like Tandem For Two to help in your community.
