A look into a brand’s culture through design
Atlanta, GA- January 2018- anodized aluminum and resin beads are the elements for Vella mode’s Gege Collection making its debut at NY NOW 2018. Atlanta metalsmith and first-time exhibitor, Trecy Bleich, interprets the style of Vella mode through her hand beaded Gege Collection. The name Gege derives from Georgia and Germany, the birth places of Trecy and her husband.
Gege collection is designed by combining classic and modern pieces using imported European satin finished anodized aluminum, matte gold-plated metals and matte hematite. Also in the line are resin beads made from polyester that reflect a pearl like glow. Trecy named the colors in her collection espresso, oyster and indigo to soften the bolder hues of citrine, rose and purple. The styling of Gege is intended to be worn layered with Vella mode’s handcrafted metal pieces but is also interesting enough to be worn alone. The collection has already caught the attention of two prominent Atlanta museums and individuals seeking a more artistic appearance in their jewelry. An important aspect for the line is the manufacturing process of the materials. Ethical guidelines are followed during production providing protection from harmful chemicals to humans and the environment. At NY NOW Trecy presents a carefully curated selection of necklaces, earrings and bracelets.
“Typically I'm a laid- back casual person unlike my mom whom effortlessly wore dressier styles as a lady in the 60’s. Gege, puts me in the mind of her. Since I named my company in my mother’s honor, I am glad there is a bit of classic in the line to embody part of what a Vella mode collection is about.” Says Trecy.
Gege is currently being sold in museums and fine boutiques. At NY NOW Trecy is targeting buyers with discerning taste who want to offer unique pieces to their customers gravitating towards individualized style.

Having been raised in South Georgia, she intermix her admiration from her mother’s classic 60's style with casual, modern lines she has grown to love from her husband’s native home in Europe.
