Daniella’s Vellas was co-founded by Daniella Freitas and James Smyth. Daniella Freitas uses her background in business management, creative passion, and love for nature to provide the inspiration and marketing for Daniella’s Vellas. James Smyth uses his background in environmental engineering and has passion for the environment to develop the ethical, renewable, and sustainable business operations.
Growing-up in Brazil, Daniella Freitas has always had a love coconuts, interior design, candles, nature and bringing wellness to people. Daniella’s Vellas is the culmination of these loves. Every part of the candle-making process has been carefully reviewed by Daniella before putting her name on it.
Born and raised in Upstate New York, James Smyth has always had a passion for nature and the environment. He has made his career about creating a symbiotic relationship between business and the environment to help ensure the long-term viability of our planet for all future generations. James has focused this passion towards ensuring that Daniella’s Vellas provides industry-leading environmental practices in their production processes as well as the final product.
Through the combined efforts and passions of Daniella’s Vellas co-founders their signature collection very well might be the most environmental conscious candle available. The materials have been meticulously sourced to ensure the renewability and sustainability of the product. Packaging and labels have been sourced from 100% post-consumer waste and are recyclable and biodegradable. The candles are 99% biodegradable. The only part that isn’t biodegradable is the small clip that holds the wick as this is made from metal for safety.

Daniella believes every person is special in their ways and each candle is also different of each other, unique as its owner. Freitas made her dreams come true being able to share through Daniella’s Vellas her truly complete love for, all of that in a unique product.
All products are 100% biodegradable which means the person is also getting a full friendly environmental candle. The container is a polish coconut shell that give the aspect of a sophisticated furniture. Many of the candles selling out in the market have different blend in that it might be harmful to people, pets and kids health. Daniella’s Vellas uses pure Soy Wax. It means a clean and lower burning and it is also more benefit for the health than any other type of wax.
