Taos, New Mexico, November 22, 2017 - For immediate release

Lynn Garlick Retablos is pleased to announce that the business, now in its 26th year, has again expanded during the last fiscal period - approximately 15%. Due to increased sign ups of wholesale accounts, a growing retail business and consistent repeat business from long time vendors, the business continues to expand both numerically with the number of retailers we supply, and the income we realize from both our established and new relationships.

Lynn Garlick, owner of the business comments, "The business continues to exhibit growth and profitability - even with the new expenses of additional employees, moving into a new office / production facility, and higher material costs. I credit it to the continued sales success of our vendors, who continually reorder. They are our main focus, and we strive to support them however best we can."

Retablos:

Lynn Garlick Retablos creates and sells heart-felt paintings of saints, angels and blessings based on the Southwest historical folk art called 'retablos'. Lynn has brought to the folk art of Retablo making, all the skills and passions that she has learned through a lifetime of drawing, woodworking and painting.

Moved by the sacred art of the retablo paintings and the santeros (saint makers) who made them, she started creating them herself. Lynn handcarves and paints her original designs on the traditionally used ponderosa pine planks. Then she decoupages high quality prints of her originals onto pine boards, in an old school technique used for the Italian altar screens of medieval Europe.

This process has made her printed retablos affordable. All of her saints are ready to hang or rest about the house, in a pocket or on an altar. On the back of the retablos is the story of the saint's life. Many of them also have a prayer.

As Lynn became more involved in her research of the saints' lives, she saw how deeply many people responded to them. "I felt a responsibility to make the painting a prayer for healing, kindness and right thought." Additionally she says, "I feel so fortunate to do this art / business. The saints, angels and prayers have changed and blessed my life. My hope is that they touch and bless others as well."
