Anchal Project receives “Best in Market” award from NY NOW and Apartment Therapy

New York, NY (February 7, 2017) – Anchal Project was selected today as the recipient of NY NOW’s prestigious “Best in Market” award at the 2017 winter market . The Sari Throw was chosen by NY NOW in partnership with Apartment Therapy as the one extraordinary product that stood out among the ten category winners of the Best New Product Awards. More than 2,400 companies exhibiting at the winter market had the opportunity to apply for these awards.

“NY NOW is filled with incredible products, so it’s such an honor to have been selected amongst many deserving designers,” said Colleen Clines, Co-Founder and CEO, Anchal Project. “My sister Maggie and I dedicated a tremendous amount of time and creativity while designing each of our pieces and are thrilled to introduce our Sari Throw to consumers in 2017.”

Inspired by the strong women of Anchal’s artisan program, the Sari Throw revolutionizes traditional kantha quilting with contemporary geometric designs through aggregated stitch patterns. Hand-stitched from six layers of 100 percent certified organic cotton, the detailed stitched patterns and paneling create dynamic intersections of color and texture.

“This year was the strongest ever and the largest show I remember since starting to come in 2006,” said Maxwell Ryan, Founder of Apartment Therapy. “The category winners were all interesting and unique – but our absolute favorite was the quilted bedding collections from Anchal Project. Besides being a beautiful, fresh perspective on textiles, it was also for a good cause.”

The Sari Throw will be available for purchase, along with the rest of Anchal’s Spring ‘17 collection, this March on www.anchalproject.org.
