Harvest Snaps Shows Off a Fresh Look on Shelves 

Consumers Prefer New Packaging Design of Better-for-You Snack Crisps 4:1

Fairfield, CA – Harvest Snaps, the popular lineup of veggie-first snacks from Calbee North America, is turning heads in the produce aisle with its new packaging design. Featuring updated product imagery of the snack crisps front and center, plus appetizing images of high-quality ingredients bordering the side, the new packaging effectively showcases Harvest Snaps’ unparalleled taste and unique range of flavor profiles. Green pea, black bean and red lentil fields still serve as the main front panel background to represent that farm-direct vegetables are the first ingredient in Harvest Snaps, while the colored banner at the bottom received a refresh with brighter colors for easy flavor differentiation. Tightened copy and graphic icons further promote key attributes like plant-based protein content and gluten-free certification. 

As explained by Paul Laubscher, Director of Marketing with Calbee North America, “Our goal was for the Harvest Snaps’ packaging to more effectively portray the product’s amazing taste and wholesome nutrition, while making the flavor profiles easily identifiable and incredibly appetizing. We extensively tested the updated packaging and found that consumers prefer the new design 4:1 compared to the previous package! We’re excited to see the impact that this will make for the brand on shelves.”

As part of the redesign, the Harvest Snaps’ logo has also been updated to include the taglines: “Fresh-Picked Goodness” and “Green Pea - Black Bean - or Red Lentil Snack Crisps.” The brand’s vegetable-based snack crisps can be found across the country in the produce aisle of grocery and natural foods retailers as well as in club, drug and convenience channels. With 30-60% less fat than regular potato chips and only 130 calories per 22 crisps, Harvest Snaps’ veggie-first snack crisps are available in the following flavors: Lightly Salted (the original!), White Cheddar (new), Parmesan Roasted Garlic (new), Mango Chile Lime, Habanero, Tomato Basil, Black Pepper, Wasabi Ranch, and Caesar. All varieties are sold in 3oz bags, with a new 10oz Bigger Bag size with resealable zipper being introduced this Fall for Lightly Salted, White Cheddar, and the release of Southern Style Smoky BBQ (new).
