SCRAP gains momentum overseas –

the new wave of a global Real Escape Game is coming!

Real Escape Game (REG) is a real-life escape game created by SCRAP – the first company to breathe life into the virtual game concept in 2007. In Real Escape Game, participants have to physically solve the mysteries given to them and “escape” the threat thrown against them within a fixed amount of time.

SCRAP has since broken boundaries and went far beyond the escape room concept. This has given birth to games with a variety of styles, such as playing in a concert hall, a movie theatre, a baseball stadium, an amusement park, and even an entire city! This also means that SCRAP has been able to increase their playing capacity along the way by adjusting their game mechanism. The largest event-based game they held saw 2,700 people playing at the same time.

SCRAP has worked with various anime and game companies and other corporations to form unique collaboration contents, and has conducted over 250 REG games just within Japan. Their one-of-a-kind experiential game has attracted over 3.5million players worldwide. SCRAP also operates Escape Rooms and organizes large-scale event style games not just in Japan, but overseas too in the United States, Spain, France, Canada, and Singapore. Ranked the number one escape game by USA Today, the quality of SCRAP’s games has quickly captured the hearts of even those outside Japan.

Up until recently, SCRAP has not made REG available to countries other than Japan, USA, Singapore, and certain parts of Europe, and many of their games remain only in Japanese. From 2017, however, SCRAP will actively be looking for partners all over the globe to bring REG to more shores. 2017 also happens to be the 10th anniversary of Real Escape Game by SCRAP. With its flexible nature and SCRAP’s ability to localize content that matches any one location, REG is expected to grow further by incorporating elements from foreign shores to create unique and exciting content to keep their players entertained.

An upcoming REG that will be available in English is a collaboration piece with Final Fantasy XIV, named Real Escape Game – Trials of Bahamut. The Japanese version ran from 10 February to 14 May 2017 in Japan, and will run in 8 different states in America starting from June 2017. The game will continue to Singapore in November 2017.
